Everything you need to know about our professional music streaming solution
Horra offers curated playlists, sorted by mood and continuously updated. You schedule your moods in a calendar (by day, time and period) and by zone if needed. The system avoids playing the same track or artist too close together, adapts to footfall (peak hours vs. quiet ones) and keeps the flow smooth.
Yes. The scheduler lets you set different time slots per day, special days (sales, events) and per listening zone. For instance, you can play a more upbeat mood at the bar and a softer one in the restaurant. Public holidays, late openings and one-off events can be scheduled in advance, so your on-site team never has to step in at the last minute.
Playlists evolve regularly (new releases, seasonal rotation, removal of unsuitable tracks). You can mark moods or tracks as “favorites” to keep them, while still benefiting from automatic updates. Removals are handled cleanly (with an equivalent replacement) to avoid gaps in playback. This approach balances fresh music with a stable experience, without demanding any daily upkeep from you.
Yes, you can request bespoke mood profiles (tempo, energy, how contemporary the sound feels) and, depending on your rights, add certain approved content. We help you confirm that public playback is properly licensed and a good fit for your venue. The goal is a distinctive sonic signature that stays simple to manage day to day.
Horra lets you insert short audio messages: promotions, service announcements, brand idents, seasonal campaigns and more. You choose the frequency (e.g. every X minutes or X tracks), the time slots, the days and the zones concerned. Messages are normalized to sit at the same perceived level as the music and avoid jarring volume swings.
You upload your file (e.g. WAV/MP3) or request a custom production from our professional team. An approval workflow lets you review, approve or schedule a start/end date. Once activated, the message is automatically woven into the stream according to your rules (frequency, times, zones). You can pause it, extend a campaign or review its broadcast history.
Yes. Multi-site and multi-zone targeting is built in: you can broadcast a national message, then roll out local variants (specific times, regional campaigns). In practice, you combine a “shared core” message with local “add-ons” to maximize impact while keeping management centralized and clean.
Horra runs straight from our iOS and Android app, compatible with most smartphones and tablets. Simply connect your device to your audio system (speakers, amplifier or mixer). For technical setups, for example when the audio system sits in a rack or a plant room, we can also supply a dedicated, preconfigured player. A stable internet connection is recommended; if there’s a brief outage, Horra’s failsafe mode keeps playback running without interruption. Horra adapts to every broadcast setup: AirPlay, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mini-jack output, RCA, XLR or a professional audio network.
A connection is useful for initialization, updates and monitoring. If it drops, a continuity mechanism takes over to keep the mood going. As soon as the connection returns, syncing resumes automatically (playlists, messages, statistics).
Check the amplifier’s power, the audio cable, then restart the device. If the problem persists, check the network (speed and stability) and restart the Horra session. The system prevents gaps; if you notice any, open a ticket from the app. Our support team can take over remotely and guide you step by step.
The subscription is a flat rate per venue, with multi-zone and multi-site options. It includes access to the platform, music updates, the audio message tools and support. The service renews automatically each period. You manage your sites and options from your admin account (adding/removing venues, activating zones, viewing history).
Payment by card or SEPA direct debit (on request). Invoices are available in your client area, itemizing the sites/products billed along with legal notices. An activation confirmation is provided for each venue. If something changes (opening/closing, seasonality), you can adjust your coverage pro rata for the next period.
You can request a change of options (zones, messages) or a cancellation from your admin area. Changes take effect at the next billing period. Across multiple sites, you can cancel one venue while keeping the others, with no impact on service continuity at the remaining sites. This does not apply to annual subscriptions, where the renewal date prevails.
Yes: Horra is a B2B service designed for broadcasting in venues open to the public. That said, in most countries the public performance license is still owed by the venue (through your local performing-rights organisation, and any neighbouring-rights body where applicable), on top of the music service. It’s a legal requirement for any broadcast of protected works in a business. We guide you through these steps.
Yes. The service covers the supply and technical broadcast of music tailored to retail, but public performance royalties and equitable remuneration for neighbouring rights are the broadcaster’s responsibility (your venue). This is independent of the music provider and calculated based on your activity, floor area and capacity. We help you estimate the cost and declare correctly.
No. Consumer plans don’t allow broadcasting in venues open to the public: you need suitable, separate licenses for professional use. Playing music without the proper rights exposes you to penalties and fines. Use a B2B service and settle your public performance licenses through the relevant bodies.
The term “royalty-free” is often misleading: even without copyright (public domain works), neighbouring rights may still apply for performers and producers. Only a chain that is 100% outside collective management and properly licensed could reduce certain royalties, to be checked case by case. We help you assess what’s feasible and where the limits lie. But let’s be honest: you won’t find what you’re looking for there.
